Getting to Know Us: Joyful Reunion in California (Video)

Our two-month visit to the United States is coming to a close. Before we leave, we drive to central California to spend a couple of weeks. We see our four adult children and two grandchildren. Along the way, Caspian completes a milestone hike, we host an unwanted night visitor at camp, Eric gets a birthday surprise, and we take a ferry to an exciting destination.

What’s new with Hourless Life?

This video was one week late. The week Eric would’ve been editing, we decided to take a mini family vacation–our closest thing to vacation during this visit back to the states. It was the only time we weren’t barreling towards a destination or hanging out with other people. It was just the three of us wandering around some of Colorado’s mountain towns (Leadville, Buena Vista, Salida, Frisco, Breckenridge). We had no agenda and changed plans multiple times per day. We look forward to sharing that week of adventure with you in our next video.

After that low-key week, it was time to close our loop of the western U.S. and return to Denver where we started on May 1. Other than a two-night camping trip with two of our Patreon supporters, we’ve had our heads down getting ready to go back to South America. The stakes feel high, since we won’t be back for up to a year-and-a-half. We want to leave our Jeep Wrangler in good shape; we need to take essential items with us that we can’t get in Argentina; and we need to pack everything wisely to get through customs with no issues.

It feels surreal that we’re leaving the familiarity and ease of our home country and going back to the other side of the world in just three days. But I think we all feel ready.

Thank you for joining us on this journey.
