In our latest episode, we drive across the continent of South America from west to east. We are excited to get back into the Jeep after our U.S. trip and my surgery recovery. But winter weather and mechanical gremlins present some unexpected challenges. Even so, we arrive in Buenos Aires, capital of Argentina and home to a third of the country’s population! This video shows three weeks of fun adventures and explorations in the big city.
Watch now:
In this video, we explain the reasoning behind our massive detour to Buenos Aires and what will come after. This was a big route shift, since we were supposed to be driving south to Ushuaia right now. Will we still go there or not?
We also discuss topics that are part and parcel of being full-time international overlanders, like when we bail for a hotel, what it’s like to drive/park/store a larger vehicle in urban areas, and the downsides to storing our Jeep for extended times.

In Buenos Aires, we visit:
- Quotidiano Bar de Pastas
- El Ateneo Grand Splendid book shop
- Feria Artesanal de Recoleta
- Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Pilar
- Palermo Soho
- Estilo Campo steakhouse in Puerto Madero
- Negroni for drinks and appetizers
- El Zanjón historical house and tunnels
- Cafe Crespin
- Museo Argentino de Ciencias Naturales (incredible fossil exhibits!)
- Ecoparque, formerly the Buenos Aires Zoo
- Caminito neighborhood
- Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Rodin, Monet, Rembrandt, Degas, Van Gogh, Manet…)

Not a complete list, but those were many of the highlights! If you have any questions or want more tips for visiting Buenos Aires, then drop a comment and we’ll respond.

What’s new with Hourless Life?
We crossed the border into Brazil almost exactly a month ago, and it’s been an incredible month. Actually, I can’t believe it’s only been one month because we’ve lived so much life. There have been high highs and low lows (rhinovirus among them).
If you want to read the caption on this Instagram post, it pretty well sums up what I think about Brazil right now:
We’re rarely up-to-date on YouTube, but we aren’t too far behind either. Stay tuned for our next video, where we’ll share camping on a river by hot springs, a boat tour through a stunning national park, and the muddy road that almost didn’t let us out.
Thanks for joining us on this journey.

P.S. We just launched new products on our store, including an Hourless Life patch and a product line called Lessons Learned. We think you’ll enjoy what you see, so check it out.
