After touching down in Denver, we’re out of the gate and on the road in the United States once again. First stop: Moab, Utah, for Mother’s Day at my request. We get nostalgic about our backstory (it’s amazing how far we’ve come in six years) and Caspian hits a milestone on Onion Creek Trail. You don’t want to miss either.
Then we continue south to Flagstaff for the 15th annual Overland Expo West event. Imagine 30,000 attendees and more than 400 vendors over the course of one weekend. It’s an intense, memorable, and wonderful experience. We love instructing and sharing our overlanding experiences with other dreamers.
After Expo, we run down to Phoenix to catch a flight. My driver’s license expired earlier in May and Eric’s license was only a couple weeks from expiring. Yikes! We have to get to Texas where we hold our U.S. residency, so we can renew our licenses.
Watch now:
Along the way, we make beautiful memories with family and friends, which is what our U.S. visits are all about.
What’s new with Hourless Life?
We spent several days in Corpus Christi, Texas, with my parents. They were in the thick of selling my childhood home, so I took a moment to sit in my old bedroom and run my hand along the walls. So many memories from what I consider a charmed childhood. But as I wrote in my journal, “I don’t need the house to have the memories.” I am excited for my parents’ next chapter, hopefully filled with travel and grandbabies, sans the stress of managing an aging property.
Quick as a wink, we were back on a plane, returning to Phoenix and our Jeep Wrangler. We ended up in a gorgeous national forest for several days, enjoying much-needed downtime. We’ll share all of this in our next video.
As this video goes live, we’re arriving in central California to spend a couple of weeks with our big kids. The four of them are spread out over three different cities, so we’re going to make the rounds.
Thank you for being part of our journey!
