Captain’s Remarks
15:23 – Weeks fly by. We’re heading to Brownwood, TX tomorrow for my brother-in-law Tim’s graduation from University. We haven’t picked out where we are going to park yet. The plan is to arrive in the area, park Meriwether and then scope out several options in Smaug. We’ll see how that works out. Either way, we have a home on wheels wherever we may be.
We’ve looked online and asked friends for suggestions in the Brownwood area, and have pretty much received no viable suggestions. So we’ll be sure to report what we find.
Because we leave tomorrow, I’ve secured the grey water valve and we’re free to use as much water as we like. The more the better. For those of you new to RVing, this is so that the grey water tank fills up and when we drain the black water tank first, we’re then able to flush it all out with all the grey water reserve.
15:25 – In other news, we reported yesterday that we have our new logo. What we didn’t report yet is that our friend Jill Sessa rocked affixing the logo on the top of the blog in a very special coder ninja type way.
For those techie types, our WordPress theme is a mobile responsive theme, meaning that it will work well on smartphones and tablets. The default logo space is very small. But Jill in her awesomeness made it so that our logo with text goes all the way across the top of the blog, and scales for the mobile versions! Check it out! Try looking at RVWANDERLUST.COM on your computer, then your tablet, then your phone. You’ll see what I’m talking about. It’s pretty darn cool and we’re really thankful for Jill!
15:33 – Tonight we get to go to one of my favorite restaurants in Texas! Better yet, we will be meeting fellow RVer friends Carolyn and Rich S for dinner there. We love meeting fellow RVers! The restaurant is called Mariano’s and it is right next to Six Flags in Arlington. Such goodness!
Brittany said she’s ready to go. I think her toleration limit at most places is about a week, maybe two, but that may be pushing it. For me I like longer stays, I think I’d prefer two weeks as a general rule. Of course this rule never applies to Austin, TX where we both love to stay for much longer.
Speaking of which, we’ve made our reservations for Austin. We’ll be at Austin Lone Star Carefree RV Park from May 11-26 and then we’ll be at McKinney Falls State Park from May 26-31. After that, we’ll be headed back out again this time starting with the Galveston, TX area.
Oh and if anyone has a suggestion for a place to stay with hookups in the Brownwood, TX area please comment below and let us know! ~ E
Navigator’s Addendum
15:46 – TGIF! I love Fridays; they’re my favorite day of the week, just laden with potential and the hope of much fun to be had. Found out that my darling mother-in-law is rendezvous-ing with us in Florida next month, so I’m working on getting her ticket locked down. -B
