Captain’s Remarks
11:01 – Had a sleepover last night! As per our log report, we have two guests. Timothy (my brother-in-law) and his girlfriend Hannah came over and spent the night last night. We watched Independence Day and just hung out together. It was pretty nice.
Today is the start of our work week. Brittany and I are working in our bedroom which is unusual. The reason for this is that as of this writing Tim and Hannah are still sleeping in the other room. Tim is crashed out on our dinette while Hannah is curled up on the hide-a-bed sofa. For what it is worth, Hannah got the better of the deal, the couch is super comfortable. I don’t understand how people can sleep in so long. I wish I had that ability but I’ve never been able to do it.
11:02 – Yesterday was “Star Wars” Day. Also known as May the Fourth Be with You. Brittany was adorable and she bought me a Stormtrooper Pez dispenser which she hid in our little bathroom. I was so happy to find it, she knows how much of a Star Wars freak I am.
11:04 – We had a very nice and relaxing day yesterday and the night before. Brittany had thought about us going out to a swimming hole, but the nearest one would have been over two hours round trip, so we nixed the idea in favor of rest. Brittany caught up on some reading while I took full advantage of the fast wi-fi we’re getting here at G-Country RV Park and watched Gold Rush! We’re usually so busy that we don’t get to relax as much as you may think, so the last few days have been very nice, and much needed.
11:06 – Today was the start of our work week, and Brittany and I have been kickin’ butt and takin’ names. We’ve really blown through a huge portion of the work we’ve needed to get done for today already!
11:09 – Talked on the phone yesterday with the creator of RVillage.com. RVillage is a social networking site for RVers. Think Facebook but specifically for those of us in an RV.
The creator of RVillage.com is named Curtis, and he’s sharp as a tack. We were hoping to connect in person as he was traveling near our area, but his schedule was such that it didn’t work out.
Not sure if Curtis felt like it wasn’t worth the trip to see us, or if he was just focused on his business meetings he has coming up. My guess it was the latter.
We had over an hour long conversation on the phone and I was pretty impressed by where he is taking things with the site. He has a very big vision for RVillage and is truly in a position to revolutionize the way RVers stay in touch with one another. He has some plans coming down the line that are pretty fantastic, but I’ve been sworn to secrecy. I will say though, that if you are an RVer, or even if you are thinking about becoming one, you should join the site now. It is still in BETA, but it is fully functional and it is a great way to get connected with other RVers.
11:18 – The wind has picked up slightly to 12mph and I heard our awnings flapping a bit, so I decided to go out and check them out, but everything looks fine. So I let them be. If the wind picks up another 3-5 mph though, I’ll probably go out there and retract them. The main awning was retracted last night, so there is no issue there.
Remarks – Today is Cinco De Mayo! This is a very special day in Mexico. When I was a little boy, I actually lived in Puebla, Puebla, MX with some of my family. It was in this city where the famous Cinco De Mayo battle was fought. If you ever get a chance to go to Puebla, make sure you stop by “Los Fuertes” that is the group of forts from that battle, if you love history as we do, you’ll definitely love that tour.
Lunch is coming up soon and work continues, gotta run… ~ E
Navigator’s Addendum
11:55 – Not sure why, but I’m really enjoying our little RV park this week. I think I’m just delighted to be back in Texas. I think it’s also great to be near family – I love having my baby brother around.

Not sure what the rest of today will hold. Yesterday I worked on staging “after” photos of Meriwether – redecorated and lived in. I may get that post up today! -B
