Guys, we did it. 2021 to 2025. 33,000 miles on our Jeep’s odometer. We are parked in front of the iconic Ushuaia sign, having driven through 14 countries to arrive at the southernmost city in the world. Seriously: we are only 680 miles away from Antarctica, and it’s all ocean between here and there!
Watch now:
We aren’t super milestone-driven. Having been on the road for more than 11 years full-time, with a long way to go, we’re fairly settled into “this is our life.” But Ushuaia crept up on us. Once we got close, we realized it did mean something momentous. We hope you’ll celebrate with us as you watch this week’s overlanding video.
And of course I had to do something unusual to mark the occasion. Without spoiling it, both snow and a bikini were involved.
We have been driving south for three and a half years! For the first time, we point north. Time to wrap up our time in South America and prepare for the next continent, as we continue driving around the world as a family.
What’s new with Hourless Life?
If you looked at the video description, then you know these events took place in February 2025. Our next videos will show our final adventures in South America, the long slog driving back north up the continent, and what we decided to do with our Jeep in the port city of Montevideo, Uruguay.
As of this writing, we’re finishing nearly six months in Mexico. It has been an important, appreciated time, traveling light with just our three backpacks.
We’ll share more on YouTube, but this year has taught us that sometimes we can’t “power through.” Sometimes our travels are so rigorous and challenging that we need to pursue a deep rest, a period of restoration to gather the energy to keep going on our journey.

And I just rereleased my ebook (first access for our Patreon supporters), entitled “What We Wish We’d Known Before Overlanding Full-time.” More on that soon!
Here’s to what’s next. Thanks for joining us on this journey.
