When we started overlanding, there was only one podcast on the subject we could find: GHT Overland Podcast. We were interviewed in 2019 after returning from our first international overlanding trip to Mexico. Afterwards, we dug into Chris and Lisa’s archives, and found inspiring and informative interviews with so many experienced travelers. Chris and Lisa were hit hard by COVID and the podcast went on hiatus. But now it’s back, and WE’RE BACK for another episode!
We regularly do interviews about our lifestyle as a full-time overlanding family and our drive around the world, but this was a special conversation for us. We talked to Chris and Lisa from deep in the interior of Mexico, the city of Guanajuato. With what they’re calling “GHT Overland 2.0,” the podcast format has changed. The questions are grittier than they used to be, and they probe deeper.

Practical tips about what it looks like to overland full-time as a family
Our conversation ranged from practical tips, based on the nearly eight years of full-time travel behind us, to the philosophical underpinnings of our journey around the world. We even share what we would tell ourselves if we could go back in time 10 years.
We hope you’ll listen to our episode, subscribe to GHT Overland Podcast, and go back to listen to the archived episodes. GHT is how we first discovered overlanding couples like Dirt Sunrise, GrizzlyNbear, and OX Overland. Over the years, these accomplished travelers and others are the ones who inspired us and kept us going when the road seemed too long.
If you find yourself in need of inspiration and practical knowledge about overlanding, then we can’t recommend GHT Overland Podcast highly enough. GHT stands for Gratitude, Humility, and Tentacity, three qualities we can never accrue enough of.
Happy listening, and leave a comment here if you have questions about anything you hear in our episode.
