Jeepsies Featured on GHT Overland Podcast

Overland Podcast With Jeepsies

This article belongs to us and was originally published on our blog, Jeepsies.

When we were overlanding newbies, voraciously consuming all the knowledge we could, we stumbled on GHT Overland Podcast. In fact, we even featured GHT in the big list of overlanding resources we published last fall.

So you can imagine how humbled and thrilled we were when Chris and Lisa invited us onto their show. We connected right around the time we were coming back from Mexico, so they had to put up with our unpredictable schedule for more than a month while we reacclimated, got set up with another RV, and put our stateside life back together.

But when we finally sat down to (virtually) record with Chris, it was awesome. It’s been approximately a year since we learned what overlanding was. In that time, we’ve outfitted our Jeep Wrangler as a home for three, lived out of it for seven weeks in the interior of Mexico, attended an Overland Expo, been accepted as speakers for the next Expo, and made huge overlanding plans for the future.

We’ve been drinking out of a firehose, and we rarely stop to reflect on what we’ve learned and how far we’ve come in such a short time. Our interview with GHT Overland Podcast gave us a chance to do that. So in a big way, it was as encouraging for us as we hope it will be for those who listen.

What’s Covered in the Interview

How to Overland With Kids
We always love to empower other parents by talking about how we overland with a toddler

I think my eyes may have gone golfball-size when I saw the list of interview questions. It was massive! But I appreciate the value of going in-depth, if the point is to provide real-world, actionable information.

Here are a few of the topics we covered in our two-part overlanding podcast interview:

  • What inspired us to become overlanders
  • How much planning and research we put into overlanding
  • Overlanding with kids
  • The nitty gritty: laundry, hygiene, cooking
  • Our border crossing experiences
  • Safety and security tips
  • How we work while traveling full-time
  • Deep-dive into our Jeep build for overlanding

…And that’s just a fraction of what we discuss!

So if you’re curious about how to get started with overlanding, or just enjoy road stories, give our interview a listen. Not only that, but plug into GHT Overland Podcast in general! I’ve been listening to recent episodes lately, and loving them. It’s so refreshing to e-meet likeminded people who are taking risks for the sake of adventure travel.
