Hello Brittany & Eric,
I am slowly catching up, but saw this post of your expenses, so I looked through it this morning. Questions – Eric – how are you doing since your medical appointments, rest, painkillers, massage, etc?
I’ve been following on a map of Africa where you are traveling. I am wondering where the future traveling plans will take you. How many more countries in Africa do you want to explore?
Brittany, I’m glad you get to have a few luxuries such as a pedi…
Caspian – One great thing about your life is that you can access so many good educational supplies and information online. I wonder if you have considered writing a journal or diary about your life. It could someday become a book you write. I think many people would be interested in reading it; if it happened.
Thank you for checking in with us, Haila! Eric has had 3 physiotherapy appointments so far. He’s had some relief for his pain flareup. And now he is working through exercises for strengthening and hopefully preventing future flareups, with two appointments per week. It’s a little too early to tell, but we’re really happy with the therapist we found here in Harare.
I (Brittany) was really hoping to visit Mozambique, Eswatini, and Lesotho. But Eric is pretty set against Mozambique right now. We may still do Eswatini and Lesotho, cutting in and out from South Africa. Everything is oriented around our ship date to Europe, which is tentatively set for March 1, 2027.
Caspian is still learning to enjoy writing. He has done some journal entries, but it’s not something he is willingly doing for fun right now. ;)
Brittany, Thanks for the reply. I’m not sure of Eric’s hesitation for Mozambique, but I worry about all of you with the political climate there right now. I am curious about those other two small countries.
Where do you plan to depart from in Africa, and where will you be landing in Europe.
I like how you say that Caspian is still learning to enjoy writing. I like writing because it allows practice in several learning areas such as the kinesthetic movement that sends messages to the brain, as well as the sensitivity of holding a utensil while creating thought. When different sensual areas are stimulated different kinds of learning takes place. I took lots and lots of notes while going to school…but rarely did I go back to reread everything – but I had piles of boxes with my old school work that I never read again when my garage flooded. They were all ruined when a creek I lived by overflowed during a heavy rainfall. At any rate…when the inspiration hits, if it does, I know you’ll help him be guided in a direction that works for him.
Speaking of…I really like yours and Eric’s narration in the videos you are producing. They add to the personal feel of what you are experiencing AND to the content because we get a little more detail when you add the extra narration.
I’m still enjoying the ride along with all of you.
