February 21 was the day we began life on the road. This year, 2024, we are celebrating 10 years of full-time travel!

A decade ago, we locked the door to our Austin, Texas, apartment for the last time and moved into our first home on wheels. We haven’t lived in one place since then.
CONSTANTLY SHEDDING POSSESSIONS, WE BELIEVE IN VERBS, NOT NOUNS.

We’ve been out of our home country for two years and four months. Here’s a look back at our past year on the road:
- Narrowly avoided a car-jacking scheme in Medellín
- Camped beneath the highest palm trees in the world (yes, they’re in South America!)
- Crossed the border into Ecuador
- Returned to visit the U.S. for the first time in a year-and-a-half
- Self-toured the Galapagos Islands
- Eric’s mom passed away and he had to make a sudden flight to Seattle
- Crazy border crossing into Peru with car sickness and sketch roads
- Hiked to the fifth tallest waterfall in the world
- Navigated one of the world’s most dangerous roads
- Went underground beneath 3,000-year-old ruins
- Made a third and final trip back to the U.S. in 2023 to bury Eric’s mom, attend another unexpected family memorial, and be with loved ones during the holidays
- Continued building our Patreon community into something special, our community of refuge where we can be 100% honest about what this trip takes
- Gave several interviews with insight into international overlanding, educating children on the road, and much more
- Brittany continued writing for Expedition Portal and had articles published in the Spring 2023 and Winter 2023 issues of Overland Journal
THE COUNT: 13 COUNTRIES. 2 CONTINENTS.

No matter how many kilometers we go, may we never cease to stay true to ourselves. May we inspire, empower, and encourage through transparency and love, never bending to create an image that “plays well” online.
Transparency is harder than it looks. But we think it’s why you’re here and we believe it has inherent value.
